An informal LUNCH GATHERING FOR MEMBERS & FRIENDS/FAMILY OF COSTA RICA LIVING MESSAGE BOARD (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CostaRicaLiving) with ARCR's (http://www.ARCR.net) Ryan Piercy. They're usually at Las Mazitas Mexican Restaurant (located diagonally across from Banco Costa Rica on Calle 40, just North of Paseo Colon. Previously (not in ’07) the U.S. Embassy’s American Colony Committee – hosted a BIG 4th of July/U.S. Independence Day Celebration but that didn’t happen in ’07 (instead there was a private party at the Ambassador's House till LATE NIGHT [I live 3 blocks away]). You MUST bring original PROOF of your U.S. Citizenship (233-3296 / http://www.USEmbassy.or.cr/images/july4banner.jpg). U.S. EMBASSY CLOSED

FESTIVAL OF THE VIRGIN OF THE SEA / FIESTA DE LA VIRGEN DEL MAR: PUNTARENAS - Colorful REGATTA of decorated fishing boats and yachts in the Nicoya Gulf salute Puntarena's Patron Saint, the Virgin of Mt. Carmel. Masses, parades, concerts, dances, sports events, fireworks.


July 19-20 (3rd Sat. and Sun. of each month)
GAY WEEKEND PARTY – LA FORTUNA/ARENAL - Palo Verde Resort hosts this monthly weekend party with drag shows, dj, dancers, b’bque on Sun. COST: Entrance – 3,000-c plus drinks, food and accommodations (460-9791 / www.BambuRoom.com)
